F\u00f6rsvarsmakten, Swedish military, have begun to advertise towards young girls as a way to maintain their place in Swedish society. Hietala takes a closer look at what it means for a girl to become a soldier and, by extension, go from object to subject.<\/p>\n<p>Lia Hietala, born in 1993 in Stockholm, Sweden, is an artist and filmmaker. Her practice is often based on archives, images, text, montage, documentary traditions, and installation.
