{"id":678,"date":"2023-04-24T09:42:47","date_gmt":"2023-04-24T07:42:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.konstfack2023.se\/?p=678"},"modified":"2023-06-22T15:22:59","modified_gmt":"2023-06-22T13:22:59","slug":"miriam-johannesson","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.konstfack2023.se\/en\/master-en\/ma-jc\/miriam-johannesson\/","title":{"rendered":"Miriam Johannesson"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The installation\u00a0<em>Mystery of Matter and Magic of Presence<\/em>\u00a0is born from the shimmer of mother-of-pearl.\u00a0It\u2019s\u00a0a deep shimmer that, like twilight, exists in between light and dark.<\/p>\n<p>The installation has been staged through an orchestration of flows and materials where the works\u00a0express the material\u2019s state as well as the ephemeral\u00a0qualities around it; they describe\u00a0how the metal melts in a precise and defining moment and how the rippling waves of aluminium slowly\u00a0move and\u00a0glitter.<\/p>\n<p>In my degree project, I examine concepts based on a philosophical context in relation to a\u00a0material-based practice.<\/p>\n<p>The undefined attribute of shimmer has been a key notion in exploring an in-between stage of displaced boundaries and fluid interfaces. I believe that borders mainly arise within us and that the world is vastly branched and intertwined beyond our comprehension.<\/p>\n<p>Light and shadows, movement and stillness together create\u00a0animated\u00a0reflections and dissolving surfaces.\u00a0Reflections and surfaces that can act as portals to sensual experiences of materiality and time.
