In the Christian tradition of iconography, the image serves as a physical representation and a reminder of the presence of the divine.
I want to remind you of something’s presence.
I want to take a big bite out of the ones I love so that they get to feel that they are flesh and blood.
To remind them that they are nature.
I want to remember.
The ghost has been given a mission to turn its face back toward the living.
To terrify is an act of vengeance in itself.
To eat someone is a declaration of love.
To sacrifice is to create what is sacred.
For too long, the eye has been in charge.
Iconography is just a reminder of the presence of the divine.
The work is a homage to the Cannibalist Manifesto and to the women that have become specters for the living.
My degree project consists of staged images using myself as a model in a mix of documentary and fiction. I want to depict ideas with the intention of transforming the gaze.
