Today, enormous amounts of plastic packaging are produced around Sweden and the world. To reduce plastic packaging consumption, we must find another solution through new and sustainable materials.

My degree project aims to find a substitute for today’s plastic packaging through new natural materials in the form of brown algae and residual product eggshells.

Through material-driven design, I have developed a proposal to show the possibilities of the material’s properties and create a natural packaging product. Algaepac is biodegradable packaging suitable for containing oil-based skincare and cosmetics. And finally, when the packaging is emptied, you can, in good conscience, let it break down to earth again.
