I paint to understand the spiritual and the religious world. My work with paintings takes its starting point in the process of becoming a priest in a secular Sweden. The paintings are created in series and become mind maps. Images and colours jump between the canvases. Together, they explore the different types of images of God, spiritual homelessness, religion and contemporary life. The age of late capitalism – what does it do to how we see the unmeasurable?

With this as my starting point, the paintings are a window into the associative, the open and the untamed. I am interested in light and in painting light. There is darkness in the world all around me. I don’t want to create more of it.
