Endless Moonlight delves into the rich cultural significance of the moon in Chinese culture. Through a series of individual illustrations, I have visualised the imagining and interpretation of the moon from both cultural and personal perspectives.
My degree project aims to serve as a bridge for sharing and cultural communication, providing audiences from diverse backgrounds an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of my culture. By doing so, I hope to dissolve language barriers and dispel stereotypes about Chinese people and our culture, which were often caused by political reasons.
Moreover, Endless Moonlight documents the result of self-exploratation. Using metaphors and symbols, I have visualised the experiences, thoughts and feelings that have shaped me as an individual.
From my ancestors to myself, everything illuminated by the endless moonlight will be expressed and interpreted through the universal visual language in my degree project.
