For my degree project, I have chosen to design an outdoor library in the center of the Stockholm suburb of Orminge.

Libraries today are one of the few places in society where people are welcome without it costing money. Libraries are a common living room where activities, in addition to book lending, take place. People go to libraries to study, socialize, work, get help with various things, check out exhibitions, drink coffee, take SFI classes, and computer lessons, listen to storytime, watch mini-cinema, etc. The list can is long. It is, therefore, an important meeting place in society and should be protected.
By taking the library out of its usual context and placing it in a public outdoor environment, I hope to make knowledge and learning accessible. The goal is to create a meeting place where people can meet others, share experiences, read a book, or just reflect.
