– Historia och framtid för Folkets Hus i Hedesunda

Folkets Hus in Hedesunda was the starting point in this degree project, which is about reactivating the public space. A prerequisite for me was to protect the already built and show the potential that the existing interior architecture already has. The building’s history has served as the foremost reference and in close studies of the premises, found elements have laid the foundation for the new interior design.

In the degree project, local residents’ needs and wants were analysed and this formed the basis for the design of the room. They also got me to understand the importance of the building for the locality.

My hope is that the work can help to open our eyes to the public space and once again create places where we can meet, interact and enjoy being together.
