John Funkquist

In my work, I have always been close to the material. I’ve always thought that nothing exists before it is built.

In my degree project, I have worked as close as possible to my material, wood. I have been interested in the link between form and structure, and how idea and material can be the same thing. In my quest, I have bent, stretched and bundled together a little world.

It will probably never be finished but, amidst the building dust, a place where everything fits together may just be visible.
